Sika® ViscoCrete®-6100 VN

High range water reducer and set retarding concrete admixture

Sika® ViscoCrete®-6100 VN is a 3rd generation polymer based superplasticizer with set retarding effect. Sika® ViscoCrete®-6100 VN has been formulated to comply with ASTM C-494 Type G.

Sika® ViscoCrete®-6100 VN combines different modes of actions resulting in optimum dispersion of the binder and at the same time improves cohesion of concrete.Sika® ViscoCrete®-6100 VN has the following advantages:
  • Thanks to high water reduction and optimum cement dispersion, it improves shrinkage and creep behavior
  • Provides an excellent workability that can be retained for up to 2 hours
  • Increases early and final strengths that can allow substantial cement reduction
  • Improves impermeabilty of concrete by reducing water/cement ratio
  • Increases cohesion without segregation that facilitates pumping
  • Can be used at low dosages

Usage

  • Concrete with highest water reduction

Technical Information

Concreting Guidance

Concrete placing: With the use of Sika® ViscoCrete®-6100 VN, concrete of highest quality is being produced, however state of the art of Concrete technology, such as mixing, placing, vibrating and curing must be respected and applied.Curing: Effective measures for concrete curing must be followed.Use of Sika curing compounds to cure concrete properly is advisable.

Specific Advice

Sika® ViscoCrete®-6100 VN is added to the gauging water prior to its addition to the dry mix or added separately to the wetted concrete mix.For optimum utilisation of the ultra high range water reducer we recommend a minimum wet mixing time of 60 seconds.When adding the balance of the batching water to adjust concrete consistency this should be done after a minimum of 2/3 of the wet mixing time to avoid surplus water in the concrete.

Compatibility

Sika® ViscoCrete®-6100 VN may be combined with all Sikament®, Sika® Aer, Sika® Pump, Sikacrete® PP-1 products, but must be added separately to the mix and not pre-mixed prior its addition.Sika® ViscoCrete®-6100 VN is compatible with all Portland Cement types.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

0.5–2.5 L per 100 kg of cement

Typical dosage:

For soft/plastic concrete: 0.5–1.0 L per 100 kg of cementFor SCC concrete: 1.5–2.0 L per 100 kg of cement
