Helena Bay Lodge is located on one of the most beautiful sections of New Zealand’s Northland coastline. Sika was involved in multiple areas across the property, including swimming pool, facade, bathrooms, steam room, kitchen, foyer, gym, SPA etc.

Concrete admixtures and waterproofing systems were applied for the construction of Visp Tunnel.

The bridge is one of the architectural icons of the city of Venice. The restoration, maintenance and overall refurbishment of the Rialto Bridge had to preserve the architectural nature of the original materials and apply non-invasive but efficient structural solutions as well as stop the decay of its structure and materials.

Hong Kong International Airport is the world’s busiest cargo gateway and one of the world’s busiest passenger airports. The existing waterproofing system was damaged, therefore the Hong Kong Airport Authority decided to install an additional waterproofing membrane on top of the existing system.

For one of the oldest hospitals in Belgium, Sika supplied high quality seamless flooring solutions.

The main building of New Cruise Terminal Port of Leixões was planned to be covered with ceramic tiles of different thickness and shape on concrete walls, both internally and externally, and flat tiles for the ceiling. Sika provided solutions for the installation of 900.000 ceramic tiles.

The new structure of the bridge is designed to meet current seismic codes. More than 120 tons of Sikadur®-31 SBA were “smeared” to each side of each precast segment prior to final placement and tensioning. Over 200’000 bags of SikaGrout®-300 PT where supplied to fill the ducts containing the post-tensioned cables.

The new generation of Volkswagen Crafter commercial vehicles are manufactured in a new modern car factory in Września, Poland. Sika provided solutions from basement to roof.

DFO Homebush required a complete revamp of approximately 1200 m² worth of flooring. Given the flooring would be located directly in premium and high end shop fronts, a durable yet very aesthetically appealing solution, that tied in with the decorative theme of the surrounding store fascias, was needed.

In 2014 the City Council decided that the bridge has to undergo urgent repairs of the waterproofing and the resurfacing of the driveway. Sika Germany supplied high quality solutions for this project.

Powerhouse Kjorbo is the first renovated office building in the world that produces more energy than it consumes. The demanding requirements of BREEAM-NOR was to select the best products and solutions as driving forces.

A seven meters deep basement was constructed as part of the reconstruction to create a new scenic spectacle for the main stage. Due to its proximity to the River Avon, the water table on the site is high, and precautions were required to ensure the building remained watertight.

The project including around 2'000 villas required a joint sealant with a fast and easy application and curing properties at temperatures up to 45°C.

Fire protection of steel structure for seven Emirates hangars

The building was created using the architectural concept of a ‘Chinese-Lantern’ and this distinctive shape is highlighted by the innovative design of its roof and external walls. Sika provided a wide range of solutions for this project, including waterproofing systems, grouts, wood floor bonding systems etc.

For the cast-in-place reinforced concrete foundations and ribs of the arch, a High Performance Concrete mix design was specified. Sika provided concrete admixtures which ensured consistent performance in the extreme temperature conditions, which can vary from below -20°C in winter, to higher than +40°C in summer.
