APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Surface Preparation
Concrete surfaces should be clean, sound and free from oil grease, cement laiance and all loosely adhering particles. Absorbent surfaces should be saturated throughly but no ponding.
Materials
Aggregates should be well graded and throughly washed. Sand particle shizes should correspond to the thickness of mortar to be applied and required surface finish.
- Up to 2 mm thick 0-0.5 mm
- 2-5 mm 0-1.0 mm
- 5-15 mm 0-3.0 mm
- over 15 mm 0-6.0 mm
1. Bonding coat for rendering/ Bonding between old and new concrete.
Solution: SikaLatex® : Water = 1 : 1 (By Volume)
Dry Mix: Cement : Fine Sand = 1 : 1 of Cement only (By Volume)
Application: Add the dry sand and cement mixture to the Latex Water Solution and mix until as even creamy consistency is achieved. Apply the Latex slurry to the prewetted substrate in 1-2 mm thickness and place new concrete or mortar rendeimmediately.
2. Repair Mortar
Solution: SikaLatex® : Water = 1 : 1 (By Volume) , For coat under 10 mm.
SikaLatex® : Water = 1 : 2 (By Volume) , For coat above 10 mm.
Dry Mix: Cement : Sand vary from 1 : 1 (to) 1 : 3 (By Volume)
Granular Size: Fine (or) coarse sand depend on layer thickness
Consumption: 0.7-2.3 kg/m² per cm thickness
3.Floor Screeds, Intermediate coat for water resistant
Solution: SikaLatex® : Water = 1 : 1 (to) 1 : 3 (By Volume) , depend on wearing resistance requirement.
Dry Mix: Cement : Sand = 1 : 2 (to) 1 : 3 (By Volume)
Granular Size: Coarse sand (0-max 6 mm) according coat thickness
Consumption: 0.4-1.9 kg/m² per cm thickness
Important Recommendation
- Never sue SikaLatex® and water as a bonding coat without adding cement (and fine sand).
- Proper curing mentod is needed.
- Always prewet the absorbent substrate but no ponding.
- Multi-lay work always wet on wet.
Cleaning
Clean all tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use.
