Sika® Plastiment® R

Water-Reducing and Retarding Concrete Admixture

Sika® Plastiment® R is a liquid set-retarding concrete admixture with particle separating effect. Substantial water reduction can be achieved without loss of workability. Sika® Plastiment® R complies with ASTM C494 Type B & D.

Usage

Sika® Plastiment® R is used where high quality concrete is required in difficult conditions, such as:
  • Hot climates
  • Extended travelling time to placement location
  • Ready-mix concrete
  • Extended finishing time is required

Compatibility

Sika® Plastiment® R is compatible with all types of Portland cement including Sulphate Resistant Cement (SRC).

DISPENSING

Sika® Plastiment® R should be dispensed directly into the mixing water prior to the addition of other concrete components such as coarse aggregates, sand and cement.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

Dosage recommend in normal condition is 200–500 CC per 100 kg of cement weight. Actual dosage rate required will depend on:

  • Required effect (slump retention & setting time)
  • Quality of cement and aggregates
  • Water : Cement ratio
  • Ambient and concrete temperatures

In all cases, it is advisable to carry out trial mixes to establish the required dosage.
