Usage

Sika® Poro®-40 is especially suitable for any application where stable low density concrete and mortar is required. Sika® Poro®-40 is mainly used for the following applications:
  • Production of low density concrete and mortar
  • Void fill
 
  • Lightweight construction
  • Filling utility trenches and pipes (backfill)
  • Variable use in different concrete systems with different raw materials.

Shelf life

Twelve (12) months from date of production if stored properly as stated. 

Storage conditions

Store in dry conditions in undamaged and unopened original sealed packaging at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost.

Concreting guidance

The standard rules of good concreting practice, concerning production and placing, are to be followed. Laboratory trials shall be carried out before concreting on site, especially when using a new mix design or producing new concrete components. Fresh concrete must be cured properly and curing applied as early as possible.

Application

Compatibility

Sika® Poro®-40 may be combined with many other Sika products. Important: Always conduct trials before combining products in specific mixes and contact our Technical Service Department for information and advice about any specific combinations.

Dispensing

Performance will be greatly enhanced if dispensed via a foam generator. Sika® Poro®-40 is added to the gauging water or added with it into the concrete mixer. A wet mixing time, which is depending on the mixing conditions and mixer performance, of at least 60 seconds is recommended. When added on site the truck mixer shall rotate its drum at maximum revolutions for at least 1 minute per m³ concrete and a minimum of 5 minutes to achieve a uniform mix.

Equipment

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically.
